Crisis averted. \o/ They managed to stop the fire before it did any damage to Diamond Bar (beyond burning the hillside, anyway). Unfortunately, the same can't be said for the other cities it hit. :/ We definitely dodged a bullet. I think the fires are mostly contained now, though.

So, we're both back in business, but I'm going to relax for the next couple days. It was a pretty trying experience. I'll be around if anyone needs me, and I'm pretty sure Tif will be around, too.

It's not quite a matter of muse death, it's that he's progressed so far beyond canon at this point that his daily life relies on things that I'm not comfortable making up, and without that grounding I just can't play him. I've been failing with him for a while now. It's just time to let go.

He had a great run, guys. I couldn't have asked for better. He really got a happy ending. Thank you. ♥

Come Xmas Eve there will be a party happening in Collins' world at the Life Cafe and he's going to open it to the entire comm. IC the invites will go out on Xmas Eve right before he goes to the concert, but I'd like make sure people know before hand. There won't be much happening, just a chance for some xmas spirit on the comm. Just don't do anything that'll screw Rent canon beyond Collins' ability to cover up XD

This is the help and support center, isn't it? I haven't been able to connect for such a long time. I thought that perhaps I had become even more broken. After all, I haven't been able to run the proper diagnostics without being connected to you.

I have a number of things to report! Firstly, it seems that the connection between departments is malfunctioning. I can't get through to anyone. Secondly, I cannot access the updated databases. Thirdly, I haven't been able to find any information on holidays or transport malfunctions, and yet, we haven't had any customers for quite some time. Fourthly...

This is the help and support center, isn't it?

[There's the sound of two people scuffling, fighting. A males voice calls out, then is followed by a woman giving a loud grunt. Shuffling feet blend with the sound of breaking wood then plastic as the lap top tumbles to the floor with the breaking table. Tommy is heard groaning softly then sounds of footsteps nearing reverberate softly before a female voice speaks first.]

"He is my goddamn son. And he came from me, I decided what happens to him. I decided who raises him - not you! Me! And I don't want that filthy whores goddamn hands on my son."

[she sniffles softly and a pause follows for a second with Tommy giving a sigh. She speaks again.]

"This is it."

[Footsteps fade away and the sound of the woman speaking again as Tommy groans. There's a pause before the lap top clicks shut]

Oh my! It is almost November 21st, the day I came to New York. It's amazing that it has already been a whole year since I arrived. It is odd thinking how much my life has changed in such a short time. I've made such wonderful friends and now have a new family which is very dear to me. One I wouldn't give up for the world. I'm very thankful that things have changed the way they did. I'm very happy to be here with Robert and Morgan. And I'm also very happy that Edward and Nancy are living happily in Andalasia. And of course I'm also so glad that I was able to come here and meet everyone. I now have so many wonderful friends here who I can talk to. I really am very thankful to have met you all. :D

Talia looked at the field before her, hazel eyes wide-spread with a newly born mix of fear and excitement. She hadn't ever left the borderlands of the Hold and she had never known just how widely spread they were. Certainly, she had read as much as she had been able to when hiding away from her chores, but she only had a limited supply of books.

Velgarth was so widely spread and with so much fantastical promise, and yet Talia was to be married at the tender age of thirteen. She hated the very idea of it, but there was little enough to say about it as not only a little, but as a woman. Her opinion mattered as much as the chattel grazing in the fields. She would be expected to mind her manners and birth children with the other women sharing wifely duties with her husband; and their would be others. Women outnumbered the men along the Border, and polygamy was a practice alive and well, even if not appreciated by all those participating.

That would have been the path before Talia, but instead, she watched the world sweep past her gaze; the lands of Velgarth stretched out before her as she sat astride this stupid horse that refused to stop, no matter how hard she tugged and yanked his bejewled reins.

Talia's world was broadening before her very eyes, but she didn't have a chance to take it all in before it swept past her, the white mane of her mount whipping her in the face.

(end flashback)


Was it all a dream? *frowns* I mean, I know that it wasn't only a dream, as now I'm in Haven.

Blessed Goddess, I'm in Haven. The Companion, Rolan, that brought me here .. he's mine. Seleney .. the Queen ..

I met the Queen! She .. I'm staying in the hall with the Blues .. they don't seem to pay me much mind, but they've all been watching me and it's making me feel entirely flustered.

The magic .. the Heralds .. Companions .. it's all really, real.

Keren says that it will all kind of sink in .. and in a few days I'll start helping around the Collegium. Everyone takes turns doing different things around the palace; cooking, cleaning and such. I'm not too good at cooking, but I've done my share of mending and cleaning, and the cook seemed quite thrilled by this. She says there will be plenty to do until they get me sorted out entirely.

*tentative smile*

I felt like such a fool .. I didn't understand what it meant to be Chosen; for him to ride out alone and fetch me. Only me and no one else.

Rolan .. I can feel him in my mind .. just a constant well of love. I'll see him again soon .. Seleney assured me of it. It nearly broke my heart to think that they would take him from me.

It's grown awfully dark outside .. almost as if there are fewer stars than normal. It's strange ..
